Hope this helps for the kind words! I totally agree - the jackal is a fun bike! I changed my cranks to a Shimano Saint and I seem to like it better than my XTs. I'm toying with the idea of getting a height-adjustable seatpost for this reason.
#SANTA CRUZ JACKAL MANUALS#
Manuals and bunnyhops are a lot easier and better now than before.Īnother use is that my wife gets to ride this bike around town with me - so I guess that in itself is a great reason to get one.īTW, I'm 5'8'' and can easily get the seat high enough for trail riding. My skillset increased tremendously with this bike. I also use it when going to the local stores and just doing urban rides. Each year or so, the V10 gets an in-depth review and fine-tuning by the Syndicate for the World Cup. It’s for racers, for competitors, for folks with their eye on the prize. The V10 is designed for those looking for a win. Stigmata 650b/700C, starting from 3,499 Santa Cruz Mountain Bikes.

I find myself using it when riding with newbies since I have it setup as an ss bike. Jackal 26 dirt jump bike, starting from 799 GRAVEL / CYCLOCROSS. This maybe partly because of the xc/trail bikes I use on our local trails (anthem x and a tallboy) are excellent climbers and so comparing them to the jackal would be unfair. This means we get to work with the customer to spec out every part on the bike. These builds are always fun for the shop since the Jackal is only offered in a frame from Santa Cruz for 799. On level singletrack, the bike rips and is fun to use but when the trail starts pointing upwards, the ride becomes less fun real quick. We just had the chance to build up another Santa Cruz Jackal dirt jumper and deliver the bike to it’s new owner. I wouldn't want to use the jackal on long rides with tough climbs. The Jackal is way more fun to ride though! / Diver85: In any case, I will be riding this bike as a 1x9 exclusively for awhile to see if it can really double as a bike used on was considering the Chameleon too but decided to get the Jackal and stick to my Niner Air9 as my dedicated hardtail. I guess for short rides it will be ok but for those long rides with really long climbs, an xc-ish bike would be better served. It really feels different from my Anthem especially when it comes to pedalling efficiency. I think you are right regarding the Jackal being used on xc rides. I haven't been able to find any other rims like thses though - at least not where I live. I was able to buy a brand new pair from a local rider who didn't use his Mavic Rims. They are made specifically for the Giant Glory bikes.
#SANTA CRUZ JACKAL UPDATE#
Will update you on bro! I'm sure a Nomad will look great with whatever parts are put on it! rims are Mavix EX729s. I'll try it as soon as our trails here dry up since it's been raining like hell the past few weeks.

The trails here include fast downhill portions as well as lung-busting climbs so I guess it won't be comfortable to use as an xc bike. However, riding it for the first time, it really feels different from an xc bike. I originally planned to build it as a DJ and use on our local xc trails here.
